Kelly Clarkson Cancels Her Tour

June 14th, 2007 // 9 Comments

Things keep getting bleaker in Kellyland. Kelly Clarkson has announced on her official website that her summer tour ain’t happenin’. Why?

“I can’t tell you how much I’ve been looking forward to getting out there to perform for y’all. In the craziness of the music business, performing is what I look forward to doing the most, so it really is disappointing for me to have to tell you that I won’t be coming out to tour this summer. The fact is that touring is just too much too soon.

But I promise you that we’re going to get back out there as soon as is humanly possible to give you a show that will be even better.

Thanks for all of your love and continued support.”

– Kelly

Too much too soon? What does that mean? Too much in addition to battling that old guy over her shitty album? I’ve heard some if it – it ain’t great. We want disposable pop not midtempo whining. Stop being so true to yourself and murder your integrity! It’s the only way to get ahead! ! Maybe not enough tickets were sold. I would go because “Since U Been Gone” is a song that has touched my soul. Yours too, I imagine.

“Oh! What a tragedy!” yeah right. I can’t stand her music.

I have to disagree on the new album opinion, I think it’s great…not as commercial as her last two, but the songs have a lot of depth to them, and her voice just plain rocks. I’ll be picking it up…this album isn’t one you’re going to love right away, it’s an album you’re going to have to listen to a few times. I’ll pick up tickets to see her when and if she makes it out on the road this year. I think it’s commendable that she tried something out of the box…’bout time some other mainstream artist’s did as well.

I NEVER LIKED HER VOICE, ANYWAY. SHE DOES NOT SING, SHE YELLS!!! ALSO, SHE SHARPS AND FLATS TOO OFTEN. WHY IS SHE EVEN POPULAR? PEOPLE ARE SMARTENING UP BY NOT WANTING TO GO TO HER CONCERTS AS THEY REALIZE SHE ACTUALLY IS A NO TALENT LOUD MOUTH!!!!!

Well, finally some sanity. Look, where do these people get off thinking that they can take some shower-singing contest winner and book her on a tour of 20,000 seat arenas? At $50-plus per ticket!?!? Get real! She should be playing gigs at House of Blues-type venues…500-1,000 capacity max. Then she might have a chance of selling out the joint and creating some sort of buzz…”oh drat! I so wanted to see KC and it sold out. boohoo…” Seriously, it is an insult to our intelligence…and musical tastes…that these music industry bastards try to squeeze every ounce out of these new-bie performers without putting them out there to really hone their skills before hitting the big venues. So, it’s too bad for Kelly, and for others who are forced to cancel tours with ridiculously high expectations. Now, I have to give credit to the American bubble gum music listeners for refusing to play a role in this con job. I guess there are fewer suckers out there than one might expect. ….or maybe most just realized that this crap…is crap!

I agree with dish. The new album is amazing, and not popular trash *ahem, Avril*. This will be the first Kelly Clarkson album I have ever bought.

I also love what I’ve heard on the album. There is a lot of depth and maturity that weren’t present on her previous albums. I don’t usually buy CDs, but I’ll definitely be buying this on the 26th.

Too bad – I wanted to see Kelly. I’ve really liked her first two CDs and can’t wait to buy the new one. I wish more artists would stand up for themselves and what they believe in instead of just selling out to a bunch of suits. Support Kelly!

Just goes to show that even the blue ribbon winning pig gets eaten eventually.

The only AI winner who’s even worth it is Carrie Underwood. She’s got a fabulous voice, no matter WHAT she sings.
I actually agree with KAT (stop yelling, ok?) about the fact that Kelly doesn’t sing but screams. It’s horrible!
