OK, we’re not totally clear on the details, but apparently, Brooke Shields is the reason that Kiefer Sutherland headbutted Proenza Schouler designer Jack McCollough until dude’s nose broke.
The incident took place amidst the hustle and bustle of post-MET Costume Gala celebrations at SubMercer, a swank bar at the basement of the Mercer hotel. According to Guest of a Guest, “While guests like Mary-Kate Olsen, (who hit up more than one party of course), and Kirsten Dunst looked on, the actor apparently was upset over Brooke Shields.”
As for Brooke, she could provide no further insight into the reason for Kiefer’s attack. Her rep told TMZ, “Jack did nothing inappropriate. It’s not clear what caused Keifer to do what he did.” When asked if McCollough touched the Lipstick Jungle star, her people replied, “We don’t know.”
Shields and Sutherland co-starred together in the Reese Witherspoon-starring film Freeway back in 1996. Hopefully, more juicy details about what exactly sparked the fracas. Maybe the guy just looked like a Christmas tree to Kiefer.

Brooke Shields reported that Jack M. did nothing inappropriate to her (he just brushed against her as he walked past). Kiefer was just looking for a fight.
FYI I see Kiefer all the time at the Equinox Gym on Greenwich Avenue in the West Village. He always seems like he just got home from an all night bender. And I think he tried hitting on me at least twice. Is he a drunk? And a gay?

Why would you think he’s gay? Oh right, you must be a guy.
I don’t mind him for some reason. He does stupid things sometimes but he seems nice in interviews. He’s just not good when it comes to drinking.
