Kiefer Sutherland To Surrender To Police Over Jack McCollough Headbutt

May 6th, 2009 // 4 Comments

24 actor Kiefer Sutherland is going to be charged with a minor assault charge for headbutting a fashion designer at a party, a law enforcement source told the New York Daily News. Sutherland will face a third-degree assault charge for the attack on designer Jack McCollough, sources said.

The actor will be issued a desk appearance ticket for the misdemeanor–meaning he won’t be jailed and will be free to travel before he’s arraigned.

A friend told the News that Sutherland–who seemed to be channeling his 24 alter ego Jack Bauer when he slammed his head into McCollough’s at a SoHo nightspot–felt bad about the bizarre display. “Kiefer is sorry it happened. Absolutely. It’s terribly regrettable,” the friend said.

Sutherland was said to be drunk at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute gala where the incident took place. Does this mean another trip to rehab for the star?

The whole point of rehab is to let you know YOU CAN’T FREAKING DRINK and/or DRUG ANY LONGER. Guess Kiefer missed that speech? He can’t drink sucessfully — he turns into an asshole when he drinks and that is unfortunate because sober he seems like a great guy and a great actor.

He should be charged with a hate crime.
