Kirstie Alley is making the talk show rounds to promote her new reality show Kirstie Ally’s Big Life, which sounds in itself a promotion for her new weight loss program Organic Liason that she…invented? Found? Not sure, but there is controversy surrounding the organization which reportedly has some connections to Scientology.
On The Today Show there was a screen shot of showbiz411′s story on the possible connection between the church and product, based on findings such as the program head quarters sharing an address with a Scientology institute and executives of the company being important members of the scientology community. (Oh, in case you missed it Kirstie is a Scientologist.) The Fat Actress told Meredith Viera that the claims were bullshit, which Meredith was quick to tell her was not an okay word for the air. Watch the interview after the jump.
Now showbiz411 is quick to tell her that calling bullshit was hasty as well. While Alley said the address for the headquarters is her accountants a “Scientology Jew”, the website was quick to come back at her with facts.
“Facts are facts, Kirstie,” the website posted shortly after The Today Show. “Two of your board members are Scientologists. ..The address of your company in Clearwater, Fla., is the same as the the World Institute of Scientology, not your accountant.”
Of her accountant Saul Lipson they say ” Mr. Lipson, is firmly a Scientologist. According to the website TruthAboutScientology.com, Lipson rose to the ranks of Operating Thetan 5 on June 1, 2004. (An OT is the highest level of the Scientology church.)
I don’t know if these supplements are funding the Scientology movement, but shouldn’t we at least see if they work before we care? She says she has lost 25 pounds so far. We’ll have to see if Dave Letterman brings up the issue later tonight. Here she is signing autographs outside of The Late Show.
