Apparently the film conflicts with his schedule forcing him to back out. The 40-year-old has been spending a lot of his time promoting his other film Argo and also filming movie Runner, Runner with Justin Timberlake.
Focus is a comedy, from the directors who brought us Crazy, Stupid Love, that would have had Affleck playing Stewarts love interest. Hmmm… so maybe Affleck backing out is not such a bad idea. We wouldn’t want what happened with the Twilight star and director Rupert Sanders to happen again!
Too soon? OK maybe.
Meanwhile, Affleck isn’t lying when he says he has a busy schedule. The actor testified on behalf of the Democratic Republic of Congo in order to urge the United States to help the country out. He said in his remarks to the House Armed Services Committee:
I am not here to ask for precious American tax dollars, I am here today to respectfully request you use the most important power you have, your collective voice as representatives of the United States of America.
Affleck’s next goal should definitely be to run for Senate! What do you think? Share your thoughts in comments!
