Now that Kristen Stewart has the premiere of The Twilight Saga: New Moon under her belt, she can start working to promote her upcoming film, The Runaways.

Based on the teenage antics of Joan Jett and Cherie Currie in their seminal all-girl rock band, The Runaways, the film stars Stewart as Joan and Dakota Fanning as lead singer, Currie, Scout Taylor-Compton as Lita Ford and Stella Maeve as Sandy West.

Here’s a little taste of the film, which is set to premiere in theaters March 19, 2010. This trailer teases us with the moving images of KStew and Dakota channeling their inner rock goddesses.

Looks like it’s gonna be a Joan Jett-approved wild ride.
