Kristen Stewart Touches Down In LA

March 22nd, 2010 // 4 Comments

Back from a whirlwind promotional tour for her film The Runaways, which was capped off with an appearance at SXSW in Austin, Texas, Kristen Stewart arrived back in Los Angeles last night.

So how did The Runaways do at the box office this weekend? It did okay. It had a limited release in 244 theaters this weekend. It made $803,000 for a per-screen average of $3,291. However, the films per-screen average was more than double that of Robert Pattinson‘s Remember Me which earned $1490, per screen and came in at number 10 for the weekend with $3.8 million.

People who have seen the film are liking it, however The Runaways‘s R rating could end up hurting the films performance at the box office, since it would prevent many of Kristen’s younger fans from seeing the film. Here’s hoping for a big box office bump when the film goes wide in April. Lets do it KStew fans!

wow…biased much?? Last week you totally said that Rob’s film didn’t do good on it’s opening weekend&now you say Runaways did OK???? Srsly? It did WORST than Rob’s film on opening weekend, even though it was in limited release, cause when films are in limited release, they make a lot more money per screan; when the Runaways are out on wide release, they pull in even worst numbers per screen!

no matter how much you hope for it, the film won’t do better; those are some pretty bad numbers for a limited release opening…I watched it, it was so and so, not bad, but nothing special…it looked like a TV movie. The performances were OK, but nothing memorable, except from the guy who plays the band’s manager, he was amazing!

margeritte is right about the film. It was ok and did have that TV movie feel. The band manager was the best part of the movie, by far!
