In other sparkly news, reality TV star Kristin Cavallari is one of many leggy young starlets who traipsed out to the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards in a shiny yet tiny dress that showed off a whole lot of skin.

Cavallari pulled back her California blond locks into a sophisticated yet simple updo on the red carpet at  Radio City Music Hall.

It seems the biggest accessory this season is a healthy, glowing epidermis.
