Once upon a 1997, I carried around a red Kate Spade backpack and thought I was the sh**.  The times, they are a-changin’ and kids these days have raised the fashion stakes.  14-year-old Kylie Jenner toted a very expensive, once exclusive black Birkin bag last night in New York (September 9th).  We’re going to assume that Kylie borrowed this too-adult-for-a-teenager bag from mom Kris, because it ain’t right.  Not to be outdone by her daughter, momager Kris toted a burgundy Birkin.  Naturally.

Jenner is walking in Avril Lavigne‘s Abbey Dawn fashion show, a sensible choice given that Lavigne is dating Jenner’s half-brother, Brody.  CFDA strongly recommends that models who walk during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week be 16, but Styleite.com confirms that Lavigne isn’t showing at Lincoln Center, nor is she a CFDA member, so f*** it.  So, Lavigne doesn’t have to abide by the rules of the council.  Instead, she’ll show Metropolitan Pavilion as part of Style360.
