The professional relationship between Target, the Minneapolis-based retail superstore, and Lady Gaga, a candid supporter of gay rights, has been terminated due to alleged disputes regarding financial support the LGBT (collectively known as the gay community).
Lady Gaga and Target had reportedly been negotiating a business partnership that would have given Target an exclusive version of the upcoming album “Born This Way.” The deluxe package includes the standard album with an additional three new songs and five remixes. However, after Gaga fans voiced their dislike for the Target- Gaga alliance, Lady Gaga reportedly reneged on the business deal with the popular retail company.

The dispute came about when select Gaga fans voiced their disapproval with Target’s donation of $150,000 to MN Forward. MN Forward is a political organization that supported the former Minnesota Republican Governor candidate, Tom Emmer; an enduring adversary for the same-sex marriage movement.
Last month, Lady Gaga advocated her LGBT allegiance and was quoted by Billboard saying that:
“Part of my deal with Target is that they have to start affiliating themselves with LGBT charity groups and begin to reform and make amends for the mistakes they’ve made in the past … our relationship is hinged upon their reform in the company to support the gay community and to redeem the mistakes they’ve made supporting those [anti-gay] groups.”
On Tuesday, a source close to the pop mogul was quoted saying that:
“She [Lady Gaga] and Target didn’t see eye to eye on Target’s policy of political donations and how they affect the LGBT community.”
The following day, an official spokesman for Gaga verified that the business alliance had indeed split.
Ah, what a shame Target and Gaga could not work out their differences; they would have made such a beautiful couple. However, we may still have hopes for a reconciliation as the singer’s exclusive album is still available for pre-order on Target’s website.

Lady Gaga will release a new album in July. The title and the release date are not fixed yet. But there will be a song called “What Love Is” featuring Milow:
