Considering the intricate costumes she wears on a daily basis, we were hardly surprised at the wacky get-up Lady Gaga is wearing for the red carpet and on stage at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards at Radio City Music Hall.

For her arrival on the red carpet, GaGa opted for a bared only her arms and face in a long, dark dress that included a feather “mane” of sorts around her neck, concealing parts of her face.

During her performance, however, it was a completely different story, as the singer stepped out in a revealing black and white two-piece ensemble and topped off the look with some thigh-high leather go-go boots.

Let’s just hope that fake blood isn’t the new black.
