“El Cantante” premiered Tuesday at the Toronto Film festival. Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony star in the film as a fiery couple. Anthony plays salsa king Hector Lavoe and Lopez fits the role of Puci, his wife. Costars and a fellow producer had nothing but lovely things to say about the couple’s real love life.

“They were holding hands, looking at each other with those eyes that people who are in love look at each other with. I think they are just very huggy-dovey. They’re very nurturing.”

But playing the dysfunctional pair proved to be more painful for Lopez. Director Leon Ichaso described the set as a fun atmosphere. During a heated scene, he describes Jennifer’s strength.

“Even when he punched her so hard, he broke through her skin. Marc had to wear so many rings, and one of those blows broke her skin. And we all had a good laugh. She’s tough.”

Hmmm….I would have totally bet J.Lo could kick Marc’s ass any day of the week.
