Like her Gossip Girl co-star, Taylor Momsen, Leighton Meester is hard at work crafting her red carpet image as an aspiring pop star. She’s already got an advantage, with a nomination for Best Pop Video with Cobra Starship for their single, “Good Girls Go Bad.”

The actress is clearly more interested in exhibiting a rock star glamorous look, in her metallic mini dress and white, bejeweled sandals at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards at Radio City Music Hall.

Her Grecian soldier-looking ensemble is topped off with some heavy eye make-up and a wild mane of dark hair.
