Leo’s pal and collaborator, genius film director Martin Scorcese, presented him with the award. Martin described his amazement at Leo’s “clear and complete commitment to his work.” The two of them have done several movies together, including “The Aviator” and “The Departed”. They will team up to shoot the film adaption of Dennis Lehane’s “Shutter Island” next year. It’s the story of two cops trying to solve the disappearance of a mental patient from an island asylum. It’s a creepy-ass novel, but I hope they repair the ending.
