Gold digger Italian TV Presenter Elisabetta Canalis is aware that she took home the prize horse, and who gives away first prize? Not this girl.  Sister’s no fuggerton (read: ugly person), but even she knows the meaning of “dating up.” 

While in town to attend the New York Critic’s Circle Awards, George Clooney picked up Best Actor for his performances in both Fantastic Mr. Fox and Up In The Air.  He and Canalis walked the red carpet where Canalis told People Magazine what they already know: George Clooney is awesome, and I’ll die before I let him break up with me.  That wasn’t verbatim.  It was more like, “things are great,” and “Yes! I love it!” (being George Clooney’s main squeeze).  My way sounds better.

While at the awards show, George got all silly, even poking fun at Mariah Carey‘s drunk display at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.  While at the podium to present Wes Anderson with an award for Fox, Clooney joked that he put the booze before the food.

“I got the chicken about five minutes ago, so I’m Mariah Carey f*cked up right now.”

George, you card.

Clooney’s Oscar nomination is pretty much a given, but will he win?  Tell! Tell!

Canalis shopped at ‘Flying A’ store and ‘Wink’, in Soho, New York
City today.  Clooney signed autographs as he and Canalis left the Carlyle Hotel in New York City for the New York Film Critics Event on January 11, 2010.
