With our starlet jail radar going all over the place on account of Nicole Richie, we almost didn’t notice Lindsay Lohan’s legal update in which her legal team struck a plea bargain with the L.A. district attorney’s office to serve a nominal amount of jail time. Instead of the four days that Lindsay would have ordinarily served for her two DUI’s, the judge opted instead to allow Lindsay to perform ten days of community service to knock off two of those days. Additionally, Lindsay’s time spent during her arrest will count for a day and so Linds will end up doing one whole day in the slammer. I hope it’s long enough for her to join a gang. Additionally, Lindsay has fessed up to a substance abuse addiction in a statement given to TMZ:
“It is clear to me that my life has become completely unmanageable because I am addicted to alcohol and drugs.
Recently, I relapsed and did things for which I am ashamed. I broke the law, and today I took responsibility by pleading guilty to the charges in my case.”
I’ve decided to pursue a law degree to figure out how exactly I can get Dina Lohan convicted of something. It might…take a while. I’m easily distracted. Damn, isn’t peanut-butter awesome?
For more of Lindsay’s statement, follow the jump…
“No matter what I said when I was under the influence on the day I was arrested, I am not blaming anyone else for my conduct other than myself. I thank God I did not injure others. I easily could have.
I very much want to be healthy and gain control of my life and career and have asked for medical help in doing so. I am taking these steps to improve my life. Luckily, I am not alone in my daily struggle and I know that people like me have succeeded. Maybe with time it will become easier. I hope so.”

Well, they say the first step is accepting the blame. Sounds like she’s no longer in denial.
If she’s in and out of jail in 82 minutes as well I’m going to be pissed.
She’ll be in and out in 60 minutes.
I’d rather stick a fork in my eye than defend Hilton, but Hohan was driving drunk on a suspended license, CHASING some lady while having coke in her pocket which she proceeded to take into jail and gets 1 day and Paris gets almost a month for driving on a suspended license. Hmmmm.
Haha just read this fantastic quote from LL in Teen Vogue magazine July ’05….”I want to be known as a great performer, not as someone who screwed up her life. That’s just not me”
you know when a junkie’s lying?
they’re lips are moving……She’s just saying what everyone wants to hear. She’s too young to understand what a mess she is. She can say she knows she has a problem…but I really think that she doesnt think she does….stay tuned!
Yeah during her three year probation she’s forbidden from associating with drug users.
Expect her back in 10, maybe 15 minutes.
Means she can’t see anyone she knows. What are the chances she is even aquainted with non-drug users?
hmweis1, just a clarification.
Paris’ 23 days were for violating her probation, not for driving on a suspended license.
she had been busted a FEW times before this one, and had received probation which included NOT driving, and attending alcohol education programs. she violated both of those terms. in other words, she HAD her chance, and blew it, which is why she got the 23 days.
however, I agree with you that 4 days seems like a slap on the wrist for what Lindsay did.
