Lisa Marie Presley: Scientology Didn’t Kill Jett Travolta

January 6th, 2009 // 8 Comments

In the wake of the sudden death of John Travolta and Kelly Preston‘s son Jett Travolta, Lisa Marie Presley has taken to her MySpace blog to defend their shared religion, Scientology.

The daughter of Elvis writes, “Folks, as popular as it has been to discriminate and ridicule Scientology and Scientologists in the recent past, now is NOT the time.”

Lisa Marie expresses her heartfelt sympathy for the grieving parents and says, “I am not writing this to preach my beliefs. I am here to protect my friends.” She goes on to say that Jett’s parents gave him “the absolute best care anyone could ever ask for and need–medically, physically, emotionally, medicinally and spiritually.”

I didn’t realize anyone was making fun of Scientology until she had brought it up.

  1. say what?

no, lisa marie…it’s ALWAYS TIME to ridicule $cientology and $cientologists.

Tragedy of Jett’s death does not make criticism of $cientology off limits. Who is LMP anyways? I mean I guess her dad was famous but in no way does that make her opinion matter. Shut up LMP and let the family grieve, and leave their religion out of the conversation. We all know about $cientology and it keeps being true with each new victim–see Katie Holmes poor thing.

Scientology is a dangerous cult. First and foremost.

Citizens (and non-governmental organizations) are incapable of acting unconstitutionally. For Ms. Presley to suggest that our criticism of Scientology is unconstitutional betrays a fundamental misunderstanding of the constitution.

The constitution is a set of restrictions on the government. A law can be either constitutional or unconstitutional. The behavior of a citizen can either be legal of illegal. If anybody accuses Anonymous (or an individual anon) of acting ‘unconstitutionally’, they are WRONG. Similarly, any accusations that Scientology (or individual scientologists) are acting unconstitutionally are WRONG.

Know your rights. Know the Consitution. Have a good understanding of civics, and be prepared to express that understanding when you meet ignorant resistance.

Normal people ALWAYS make fun of scientology. It’s what we do.

scientology is not dangerous unless you misuse it. most people dont even know how to define it. so how can you claim to know it? in my life i have said ‘hello’ to both JOHN & LISA MARIE…. nothing more. they are both harmless human beings. trying to use a proven methodology to figure it all out… Im sure for those taking the time to see what Scientology really is would soon discover that it gives a lot of clarity to the issue of death… something everyone is going to have experience first hand.. ya think?
