Ludacris and T.I. Enjoy a Scuffle at a Power Brunch

June 26th, 2007 // 3 Comments

Dressed in their Sunday finest, rappers Ludacris and T.I. were unable to stick to niceties and found themselves in the middle of a brawl at the Sunset Tower hotel over the weekend. Both were attending The Power Brunch-L.A., which was being hosted by the Warner Music Group executive, Kevin Liles. Both Holly Robinson Peete and her hubby, Rodney Peete, were on hand at the event, which was being held to honor their Hollyrod Foundation. It seems that the fracas started when fists started flying betweeen T.I. and Chaka Zulu, Ludacris’ manager. From there, the scuffle gained eight more participants, while more peaceful guests hurried out the door to avoid the altercation. Eventually, security extracted T.I. from the situation and a woman was taken from the scene by an ambulance. Police arrived on the scene, but no arrests were made.

“Basically we responded to a disturbance,” says Sgt. Kristin Aloma. “No report was taken. We were there in two or three minutes. There was an altercation between the entourages.” When deputies arrived to assist, “it was under control and the event security had taken care of it,” Aloma says.

Personally, I find that no matter how agitated I am, three pancakes and one cup of coffee is usually all it takes to get my back to my usual docile self. Oh yes, that and a cube of sugar.

Hamilton singer to walk red carpet at Grammys
LOS ANGELES When Hamilton singer Tara Keith found out she had won a talent competition that would send her down the red carpet at the Grammys, it might have seemed like her big break. Except that there’s only so many times a young singer can be broken.
Red Carpet Rolled out for Local Returning Soldier
It’s always a heart warming moment when a soldier returns from a long tour of duty overseas, but Friday one local soldier had the red carpet rolled out for her, literally. David Elliot spared no expense to surprise his fiancé with a big homecoming.

Luda Luda Luda…you are my age, i.e., you are too old to rumble. Leave the fighting and such to the younger kids. A broken hip at our age is not a good look!

Actually I read a conflicting story which says Luda was not involved:

“Apparently T.I.P. threw out the first punch and wailed on Chaka Zulu (the DTP Co-Founder and CEO) and then proceeded to choke him. That man does have a bad temper (more on that in my interview with him I’m posting up later). Ludacris apparently didn’t want to be involved because sources say he walked out the brunch as soon as the fight started. When folks started to help defend Chaka, security got involved.”
