Wearing a wedding dress by Elie Saab (made up of 50,000 pearls, according to @Luxarazzi) Countess Stephanie of Lannoy, 28, married Grand Duke Prince Guillaume of Luxembourg, 30, today (October 20th) in a Catholic ceremony.
Many of Europe’s crowned heads were in attendance, including Princess Mary and Prince Frederik of Denmark, and Princess Victoria of Sweden.
Lannoy, whose title is now Princess Stephanie, Hereditary Grand Duchess of Luxembourg, wore a family tiara consisting of 270 brilliant-cut diamonds set in platinum. @SydneyLux tweeted that Stephanie’s hair was done by Tom Marcineau of Maison CARITA-Paris. The flowers were a Maison Lachaume creation.
Inside the Cathedral of Our Lady of Luxembourg, there was a moment of silence for Stephanie’s late mother, Countess Alix de Lannoy.
Totes in love with the dramatic 14-foot train.
Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex attended the wedding on behalf of Britain’s royal family, and Sophie showed off another fantastic hat by milliner Jane Taylor. According to my friend, @mrsregaleyes, Sophie wore the Francis organza horse-print dress by Emilia Wickstead, a designer also favored by the Duchess of Cambridge.
Please take a moment to check out the hat brigade in the gallery, for what is a European wedding without such bad-assery?
