The “Never Gonna Give You Up” singer emerged as the surprise act at this year’s Macy’s Day parade, that also saw appearances by David Archuleta, Ashanti, Miley Cyrus and Kristin Chenoweth.

Rick Astley belted out his hit pop single from the 80s for the crowds and the reaction to his impromptu performance from one Digg user was to say, “The fact that Rick Astley himself actually showed up makes this pretty much the most awesome thing ever.”

 Singing from the front of the Cartoon Network float, Astley appears to have embraced his resurgence in popularity–and just in time for the holidays.
