The season five poster for Mad Men surely does have people talking. The poster, which does not even mention the show’s name, shows the image of a suited man falling head first out of the sky.
Some are comparing the image to the iconic/horrific 9/11 photo “The Falling Man.” A Copyranter reader mentioned the fact that an ad executive Paul Tilley had committed suicide by jumping from a hotel in Chicago.
However, the poster is most likely an ode to the show’s opening sequence concludes with the little black-and-white Don Draper falling alongside full-building ads, only land in his favorite armchair. That said, the poster still touches a raw nerve amongst a number of people.
The Jon Hamm directed premiere will be two hours long and, as creator Anthony (you know where my mind went) Matthew Weiner told the Hollywood Reporter, “It’s a Mad Men movie — I don’t think anyone’s going to think it’s two episodes spliced together. There is a story that starts in the middle of it [but otherwise] it’s one story. The beginning and the ending are related to each other.”
Mad Men has it’s two-hour Season 5 premiere on Sunday, March 25 at 9 PM ET.

The creator of the show is MATTHEW Weiner. Please get your facts straight.
Thanks for catching that. I apparently had the Twitter flashing politician on my mind.
