Madonna’s Confessions Tour arrives in Rome on Sunday, and the Catholic Church believes her onstage mock-crucifixion with a fake crown of thorns thrown in for good measure “comes close to blasphemy.” This latest controversy comes on the heels of NBC’s decision to air her concert special in November with the “Live to Tell” crucifixion routine reportedly still in place.
Frankly, I find it more newsworthy that the Catholic Church even bothers to be offended by Madonna anymore.

So true! I don’t know why they even pay attention anymore. Although with a Pope who wears Prada shoes, perhaps he’s hip on all the music the kids are listening to these days.

Yeah, I think im sure whenever most people see that picture, aside from die-hard catholics they roll their eyes and say something to effect of “oh Madonna”. She’s done it before but we’ll forgive her because her tour is good……….unlike Mariah’s…..
