Madonna Debuts As Film Director

October 1st, 2008 // 1 Comment

Looking back at old posts about Madonna and her film Filth and Wisdom, I’m guessing the flick started off as a 30-minute short, which then blossomed into an 80-minute feature. The feature-length version premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

Originally premiering at the Berlin Film Festival in February of this year, the piece is the directorial debut of the Material girl. The dark comedy focuses on three roommates living in London and stars Eugene Hutz, lead singer of the New York Gypsy punk group Gogol Bordello.

It looks like your standard independent film fare, with Madonna obviously trying to recapture that Desperately Seeking Susan vibe of her early beginnings in New York City. At least the soundtrack sounds interesting. I’d give it a try.

  1. Why??

Oh, Eugene. Why? Why? Madonna is film poison. She just wants to use your coolness in the way that Countess Bathory wanted to use virgins’ blood… Why have you allowed yourself to be used by that hag?… Okay, nevermind. I forgive you. You’re still my dirty sex fantasy………pornstache……sweat……vodka……..Mmmm……..
