Madonna’s Baby Trouble

The father of Madge’s newest accessory is having second thoughts.

Reuters sez -

“The father of the Malawian child pop star Madonna wants to adopt said on Sunday he had not originally planned to give up his son for good when he handed him to an orphanage after the death of his wife last year.

Yohane Banda told a British newspaper he put his son David in an orphanage when he was just over one month old, fearing that he was ill with malaria, which killed his two other sons.

“I suppose deep in my heart I always imagined that when he was better, or I had got another wife, I would go and take him back,” Banda told the Mail on Sunday. “I did not think anyone would want to take him away.”

Banda says that all he initially knew about Madge was that she was a “good Christian lady”. Did he infer this because she was riding a giant Swavorski crystal encrusted crucifix when she rolled up in court? Seriously, I love Madge as much as the next ageing ‘mo but this whole thing reeks of a big ole’ PR stunt. What’s next? Self-immolation on the steps of Westminster? Bitch, you’ve got enough money!

p.s. I don’t know how Malawi works exactly, but normally when you put a child in an orphanage, adoption is a danger. Here’s your clue, Yohane.

    People are being such hypocrites about this whole Madonna adoption thing. 1- Does anyone _really_ think she is doing this for publicity? She would need it exactly why? 2- We’ve got Angelina coined as “Santa Angelina” and everytime she’s interviewed she’s treated like the 2nd coming of Mother Teresa. WTF? How bout we just say Madonna did a good thing, is giving a _lot_ of money in Malawi (money where her mouth is) and be done with it. Or how bout we say “that kid is lucky” and be glad he’s not going to live a crap life in an orphanage.

    Sometimes I wonder how people can be so bloody shallow.

    @Carolyn.

    Yes. I believe she’s doing this for publicity. Madonna would perform oral copulation on the pope in St Peter’s square if she thought it would get everyone’s attention. And sorry but 3 mil for someone who just pulled down approx 200 mil in concert revenues is chump change. And it doesn’t begin to match the kaballah donations she’s made. 3 mil is probably her fuel expense for the private jets in a year’s time. while angelina isn’t a saint, she actually does put her money where her mouth is. a third of her salary goes to charity. You say this kid is lucky? Sure. He’s going to feel really lucky when he learns he was bought like a latter day slave and has to endure the embarrassment of finding out mom’s “colorful” past. All I can say is hold on David, its going to be one hell of a ride.
