My second favorite Desperate Housewife is on bed rest. So the show is going to shoot at her house. I would be nervous as hell. It’s going to be like Cribs but with witty dialogue.

Marcia Cross, who is expecting twins in April with hubby Tom Mahoney, was put on bed rest last week, the actor’s publicist said Wednesday, describing the doctor’s order as “a precautionary measure only.”

TV Guide’s Website reported that Desperate Housewives’ producers had to act quickly once they learned that Bree Van De Kamp was going to be out of commission sooner than they thought. In turn, the brain trust behind ABC’s hit dramedy is planning to bring the set to Cross’ Los Angeles home for two days this week to tie up her character’s story line.

So, not only will this now be the viewers’ chance to see whether Cross keeps house like her uptight alter ego, but this move will also keep the expectant mom’s burgeoning baby belly–which was starting to make its presence known on Sunday’s episode–under wraps for the rest of the season.

She had better get the cleaning lady crackin’. That’s not a lot of time to get your house up to par. Because I’m guessing the DH audience is a little more discerning than the Cribs audience. And there is no way in hell I would be doing ANY housework if I was pregnant. Once I get the word that there’s another human being growing inside me, all bets are off. I would have people tying my shoes and opening my mail for me.

I wonder if she has a vending machine in her kitchen for her scrub friends like Ice-T does? Or a Scarface poster.
