Hollywood expects no attention this weekend as kids return to school and the acceptance that the care-free summer girls have “been gone since that summer… since that summer…” (R.I.P. Rich Cronin).
But, that doesn’t mean they’re not going to try to bait you with a few interesting films this weekend.
If you’re a Resident Evil geek like I am, you practically piddled yourself to find out the fourth installment of the franchise was in 3D!
Resident Evil: Afterlife follows our heroine, Alice (Milla Jovovich), in her on-going battle to save survivors from the undead. Alice pairs up with Claire (played by Ali Larter, who looked much prettier as a sparkly, glowing pregnant woman at the Tokyo premiere) on the dangerous journey to the safe haven: Los Angeles – HA! Irony.
However, The Virginity Hit and I’m Still Here are two films off the radar that could spark your interest.
What I believe was a brilliant idea developed over an un-named narcotic, Huck Botko and Andrew Gurland (the same guys who wrote The Last Exorcism) thought it’d be a fan-tabulous idea to video tape a virgins pursuit of getting laid.
And I tend to agree. Who doesn’t like a coming of age mockumentary? I not only welcome, but embrace the inappropriate and immature comedy.
Speaking of mockumentary… I’m Still Here follows Joaquin Phoenix in his transition from actor to rapper. Directed by Casey Afleck, the trailer and the poster are bizzaro. But, I really want to know if Joaquin is all there SO I might see it when it comes out on video.
That’s still up for debate.
