Matt Damon Debuts ‘The People Speak’

What’s that you’re saying, Matt Damon?  You’re more popular than a Reno escort on the PGA Tour these days?  You couldn’t be more right!

Handsome and charitable Matt Damon is passionate about stuff, including his new television project, The People Speak, premiering tonight on the History Channel.

He’s wrangled Josh Brolin to coproduce and a giant ass-load of other celebrities to participate, such as Viggo Mortenson, Morgan Freeman, Bob Dylan, Kerry Washington, Pink, Bruce Springsteen, and Marisa Tomei.

The project sprung from his own personal interaction with the author of “A People’s History of the United States” and “Voices of a People’s History of the United States,” Howard Zinn, coincidentally his next door neighbor.

Damon told E!,”When I was 10, I had one of the first copies of that book, and I took it to school on Columbus Day to read about Columbus to a shocked group of kids. The book’s been a part of my life since then.”

Dang.  Between this, the Invictus premiere, and his three wee babes, this guy has a heck of a lot on his plate.
