Steven Soderbergh’s next project will feature a star-studded cast in a multiple storyline thriller about a deadly disease. Matt Damon has already committed to the film, now titled “Contagion,” as well as Jude Law. Kate Winslet and Marion Cotillard are also in talks for the film, which would shoot later his year. That’s a lot of awards gold on one screen.
The film is said to be similar in its plot device to Soderbergh’s critically-acclaimed film Traffic. The incredibly popular Damon, who stopped by the BBC Radio 1 Studios in London today, has worked with Soderbergh most recently on The Informant! and most famously on the Ocean’s Eleven movies.
The director is currently finishing the spy thriller Knockout, which will star Ewan McGreogor and Antonio Banderas.
