Matt Giraud Leaves ‘American Idol’ After Adam Lambert’s Scare

April 30th, 2009 // 7 Comments

It was back to Kalamazzo, Michigan for 23-year-old American Idol contestant Matt Giraud. After he was eliminated on Rat Pack night as the result of a split-decision, the Justin Timberlake enthusiast sang “My Funny Valentine” before telling the audience, “I’ll definitely remember being the cat with nine lives up there.”

Meanwhile, Adam Lambert got quite a scare when he ended up in the bottom two and time will only tell if his vocal gymnastics and on-stage theatrics will be enough to secure a spot in the finale.

Next week, the remaining singers will be training under the tutelage of none other than Guns N’ Roses musician Slash with No Doubt and Daughtry scheduled to perform on next Wednesday’s show.

But what I want to know is when Paula Abdul is scheduled to have Simon Cowell draw another mustache on her face.

Matt is a talented brilliant artist. He had us from his Georgia On My Mind and that group singing. He is under rated because of not being originally included as the top three from his group of 12 for that unfortunate Viva La Vida. So he is marked as only a wild card. He is much better than Kris or Danny. But only because he has not been consistent with this song choices. But we love you, Matt. We’re your fans here in Hong Kong. We’ll miss you.
