Mel Gibson has decided to make a return to acting after spending the last few years behind the camera and trying to save his career by being Britney Spears‘ savior. The Australian actor has been cast as the lead in the British remake of a 1985 mini-series Edge of Darkness.
In the film Mel wiill play a homicide detective set on figuring out the murder of his activist daughter. Insiders say Robert De Niro will be joining the cast as the bad guy who destroys evidence. The film will be released next year. Mel reportedly has multiple roles lined up.
Has Hollywood forgiven Mel for his anti-Jew tirade? I certainly don’t plan on catching any of his acting endeavors in the near future.

Even Mel Gibson deserves forgiveness. Besides he is an incredible actor and director.

He made a terrible mistake, I think he has suffered for it, I believe in forgiveness..so I will see his movie, he is a great actor…

Love Mel Gibson, glad he’s doing some acting again. I know everyone thinks he’s Austrailian, but isnt he really from Chicago? I seem to remember reading that somewhere years ago when his Aussie accent magically disappeared.

Glad he’s acting again as well. He was AMAZING in Braveheart. My only complaint?? The racist rants… Hopefully he’s learned a thing or two about that. (I truly think he’s bipolar too, which is why I think he tried to help Brit Brit, but that’s my opinion)
