Holy crap. After 28 years of marriage, Mel Gibson‘s wife Robyn Gibson filed divorce papers from her hubby last week. Citing “irreconcilable differences” as the cause for the split, Robyn first wed Mel back in 1980. And now, it seems that his friendship with Britney Spears and exclamations of “sugartits” grew too much for the girl.
As there was no prenuptial agreement in place when they married, meaning that Robyn is looking at a 50/50 split of Gibson’s fortune, which was calculated in 2006 to be $900 million. Yowzah.
TMZ claims the couple has been separated for over two and a half years at the time of filing. Of their 7 children, only their 10-year-old son Tom is a minor. Paperwork filed indicates that Robyn is looking to get joint physical and legal custody of the couple’s son.
