16-year-old Miley Cyrus has certainly experienced her fair share of controversy throughout 2009 and as a result, she’s been voted the worst celebrity influence of 2009.
The teenage Disney star garnered 42 percent of votes in a survey conducted by AOL’s JSYK.com, whose target audience is between 9 and 15 years of age.
Editor of the site, Stephanie Cohen, explains to Reuters, “I think her fans still want her to be the sweet Hannah Montana and she is trying to age up…Parents are definitely resisting it.”
You gotta hand it to her–the girl manages to outdo herself, year after year. Here’s to hoping for an eventful 2010!

God!!! Leave this girl alone! I love Miley and she is amaaing. She does NOTHING WORNG.She’s almost 17 people, she has a life and you shouldn’t be judging her.Parents act like it’s Mileys job to take care of there kids when really the parents are to blame…I’M SORRY BUT THIS MAKES ME VERY UPSET.

Yes, Miley is awesome. Def NOT the worst by far. She influences a lot of girls in a positive way. Mine are fine with Miley. She a lot more famous now, but she is still the same sweet Hanna Montana/Miley growing up before our eyes. I think it’s all Good.

When she became a celebrity, she took on the responsibility of being a positive role model for her target audience. Just because she WANTS her target audience to be 22 year old underwear models doesn’t mean they all are. With great power comes great responsibility. And vice versa. Miley needs to better handle this power she has over young girls.

She’s only 16 & who cares if she’s almost 17. The point is she’s still a minor! She audience is little girls not porn stars! In 2009 she took trashy to a new level. Miley cyrus go back to hannah montana!
