You can thank DJ Shadow, aka Josh Davis, for shaping the sound and image of industrial hip/hop. He’s certainly a pioneer, and bands like Radiohead, The Verve, and the Beastie Boys have given Davis major props for helping develop and push the limits of their style.

Even if you’ve never heard of DJ Shadow, you’ve most likely heard his music, which is widely sampled in more popular artists’ tracks, as well as used as chill background music for commercials, documentaries (such as the fantastic “Dark Days”), and movies.

“Walkie Talkie” is one of my favorite DJ Shadow videos. It’s fun and dancey.
