I was incredibly delighted to see that the wonderfully trippy Quasi at the Quackadero has made its way onto YouTube. Animated by Sally Cruikshank, this little gem of 1970′s underground filmmaking fueled many marijuana-induced ruminations in the backseats of Mustangs all across this great nation.
For those of you who were still a fresh, unhatched egg in the 1970′s — and perhaps forever genetically altered by a marijuana-induced rumination in the backseat of a Mustang — Ms. Cruikshank may still be of interest to you. She animated numerous shorts for Sesame Street from 1989 – 2000.
As for you hard-to-impress gays, the animator lent her skills to the opening credits of Bette Midler’s Ruthless People.
While you will have to click on this link (Quasi at the Quackadero) to watch the film directly, those of you interested in a little back story might appreciate a vintage interview with the animator, featured below.
Ms. Cruikshank, quite naturally, has a blog: Fun On Mars.
Her bio is here: Muppet Wiki.
