Mark Kerrigan, Nancy Kerrigan‘s 45-year-old brother, was arrested for assault after he got into a struggle with his 70 year-old father, Daniel Kerrigan, over using the telephone. The son admitted he “put his hands around his father’s neck and his father fell to the floor.” The Olympic Skater’s father was found  unresponsive in his home and his son announced his dad was faking it. Though clearly he wasn’t because he later died and an autopsy report is now pending.

Mark Kerrigan’s attorney states that “He denies any responsibility for this” and his PTSD from serving in the army is serving as a defense. The legal issues and violence is probably also bringing up trauma for Nany Kerrigan, who suffered her own attack with a crowbar thanks to Tonya Harding‘s ex husband and bodyguard at the time.  Here she is during better days backstage at the Putting Women’s Cancer On Ice benefit on October 6, 2007.
