Long-suffering from hepatitis C, Natalie Cole was overjoyed to learn that a kidney had become available for transplant for the singer.
Sadly, it was at this same time that Natalie’s older sister Carol “Cookie” Cole lay dying in the hospital from cancer. When Natalie received an urgent phone call from her doctor, and advised to rush into surgery immediately.
Timolin Cole, Natalie’s younger sister, told Page Six, “[Natalie] said, ‘What do you mean? I can’t deal with that right now! I’m here with my dying sister!’ And they said to her, ‘No, ma’am. We’ve got to do it now. You’ve got to be at Cedars-Sinai in two hours.’ “
However, at the urging of her family, Natalie agreed to undergo the transplant procedure. Despite the loss of her sister, Natalie is in good health. “She’s doing well, and she’s going to party like a rock star in no time,” her sister added.

I’m confused. Don’t you need a new liver if you have hepatitis C?

Partying like a rock star is what got her into trouble in the first place!

Natalie Cole was a drug addict who shared needles with other addicts. That is probably how she got hepatitis. The whole family is pretty rough.
Its kind of chilling that the relative said that Natalie would be partying like a rock star when Natalie’s heroin addiction is what led her to get hepatitis in the first place.
