Natalie Portman looked glam in a purple mini for the opening of the Venice Film Festival where her upcoming film, Black Swan.
The psychological thriller stars Portman and Mila Kunis as rival ballet dancers in a New York City production of Swan Lake. The film will compete with 23 other features for this year’s top prize.
Other in-competition films from well-known names include Sofia Coppola’s highly anticipated Somewhere and Vincent Gallo’s Promises Written in Water. In total this year’s festival will screen 79 full-length world premieres from 34 countries. The 67th Venice film festival runs from 1 to 11 September.
Check out Portman and her boyfriend actor Benjamin Millepied, Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky, and actor Vincent Cassel at the movie’s photocall!

Benjamin Millepied is a ballet dancer / choreographer, and while he may have a few lines in Black Swan (he was the film’s choreographer) I wouldn’t refer to him as an “actor”. Hot, yes – actor, no.
