Anyone watch Heroes? I do. It’s pretty hot. I could watch a cheerleader put her hand into the garbage disposal and then grow a new one all day. Anyway, Queerty‘s chasing a story about how NBC execs weren’t thrilled with the cheerleader’s best pal being light in the loafers.

Apparently AfterElton editor Michael Jensen’s inbox got swamped by letters yesterday, including one from Heroes creator Tim Kring. In response to the controversy, Kring wrote:

It was certainly not our intention to confuse the issue of Zach’s character being gay. We have too much respect for our audience to do that intentionally. However, it has simply become too complicated behind the scenes to push this issue further with this particular character.

Hmmm, sounds as if some NBC Universal – the company that owns NBC – executives may have put an end to young Zach’s burgeoning homo-enlightenment.

I watch the show religiously because I’m a geek. And I can say that it’s pretty spelled out that the kid’s into dudes. I’m not sure why they’re going back on it now, but they did give him amnesia. The real controversy here is why they’re not talking about how Milo Ventimaglia’s character is obviously a homo. Because hair that floppy can’t be straight.
