Neverland Sold: Michael Jackson’s Childhood Is Over, Folks

November 12th, 2008 // 6 Comments

For a whopping $35 million, Peter Pan has purchased the Neverland Ranch. Ha! Actually, the Sycamore Valley Ranch Company LLC, a Delaware-based company bought the estate from Michael Jackson.

The Santa Barbara property was originally opened as an amusement park-type home by the King of Pop back in 1988 and sprawled over 2,800 acres.

You just know they’re going to find the tooth fairy buried in the backyard. And a few Christmas elves.

Actually, the Sycamore Valley Ranch Company LLC is a joint venture between Jackson and an affiliate of Colony Capital LLC. So, he hasn’t completely given up ownership.

Sycamore Valley Ranch was the original name of Neverland when MJ bought it. I got a chance to go to Neverland Ranch and went on the rides and spent a few hours roaming around. It was awesome and all the bucketloads of rad I thought it would be. I’m not sad to see it go though… I think everything has it’s time and Michael needs to move on.

I think the King of Pop Music can now live a life of low-profile forever in Dubai now.
