Nick Cannon Replaces Jerry Springer as Caretaker of America’s Talent

Nick Cannon now has a new job to add to his resume besides actor, singer, fashion designer, and personal slave to wife Mariah Carey

The father-to-be is taking over as the new host of America’s Got Talent, NBC announced yesterday.

Apparently Jerry Springer is simply too busy nurturing the baby mama drama of his talk show and what he calls “a new stage
role” (does he mean that Kendra Jade sex tape?) to return for a third season of freakshow herding talent recruiting.

So, the beacon of peace is passing the coveted baton – which was first
held by Regis Philbin
- onto a new generation.  28-year-old Nick will join judges Sharon
Osbourne, David Hasselhoff
and Piers Morgan in deciding which
middle-class American can best contort their bodies into an 808.

“I’m thrilled to be working with NBC,” Nick said, adding that the network “understands my vision as not only an entertainer but as a
creative show producer.  I look forward to working with the network and their executive team on America’s Got Talent and other shows to come.”

Hold onto your laxatives folks, it sounds like another Ryan Seacrest is in the makings…
