The Melbourne Derby took place this, and Nicole Kidman took the opportunity to dress up Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady. Wearing a white dress with black and white ribbon by L’Wren Scottt and a wide-brimmed hat by Stephen Jones, Kidman pretty much nailed the look she was going for.
“My Fair Lady is one of my favourite movies,” Kidman said, according to Hello! Magazine. “We decided to do something that was fun and a bit different. I’m doing a film about Grace Kelly at the moment, so it’s nice to do it (get dressed up) in real life too.”
In between photos on the carpet, Kidman told the press how jazzed she gets about horse racing. ”I love the races, being Australian, the Melbourne Cup has always been something that I have bet on, as a kid I used to go to the races, but I had never been here.”
Jessica McNamee, and Ashley Hart joined the Oscar winner in Swisse marquee on Derby Day at Flemington Racecourse Saturday, before Kidman had to bounce back to France to continue filming Grace of Monaco.
