Nicole Kidman’s New and Old Husbands Meet at the Racetrack

February 16th, 2009 // 7 Comments

Tom Cruise went back to Thunder Road this weekend – and got some new lightning to fuel his ego storm.  Keith Urban, to be exact.

The Valkyrie actor was racing cars at a NASCAR Auto Race in Daytona Beach on Sunday, while new hubby of his ex-wife Nicole Kidman provided musical entertainment.

Supposedly the pair were nothing but nice to each other, but there’ve been speculations of a manly face-off between the two men.  Seriously?  That feud is dead, buried, and growing botox.  Any attachment Nicole still had to the manic ex-husband who nearly sent her to a nunnery she lost the moment she saw him jumping up and down on Oprah’s couch.

That said, Tom, who is competitive with everyone (including pregnant, depressed women like Brooke Shields), probably took a smug satisfaction in watching Keith belt out sappy tunes while pondering the singer’s “weak” character because he not only polluted himself with drugs and alcohol, but (gasp) he used AA meetings rather than Scientology to cure himself.  That shit cures anything, dontcha know?!

Meanwhile, Keith laughed to himself as he watched Tom race around the track, knowing the actor was mentally re-playing Days of Thunder and listening to the Mission Impossible soundtrack inside his own head.

Ok ok, so maybe the feud isn’t totally dead and buried…

” he used AA meetings rather than Scientology to cure himself. That shit cures anything, dontcha know?!”

ya here’s the most accurate response…

Penthouse: Where did all this money come from? How much did it cost to be audited, in Scientology parlance?

Hubbard: It cost as much as a person had. He had to stay in the organization, getting audited higher and higher, until he paid us as much as he had. People would sell their house, their car, convert their stocks and securities into cash, and turn it all over to Scientology.

Penthouse: What did you promise them for this price?

Hubbard: We promised them the moon and then demonstrated a way to get there. They would sell their soul for that. We were telling someone that they could have the power of a god –that’s what we were telling them.”

Quoted from the June 1983 Penthouse
interview with L. Ron Hubbard Jr.
