The petite mother of one of my favorite celebrity tots Harlow Madden, Nicole Richie took time out from taking care of her daughter to visit the Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation Beyond Shelter in Los Angeles and spent some time with the kids there. Richie and boyfriend Joel Madden are both involved in the charity.

I have to say, it is nice to see celebs actually following through with their promises to try and make a difference with their fame. Also, it’s hard not to be touched by the video of these kiddos reading books, playing and just generally being kids.

It’s almost making me want to adopt a child. Until I realize that I basically have one that I’m taking care of one right now called “my boyfriend.” Ha! I’m totally kidding. Don’t tell him I said that.
