Nicole Richie took the sweater off from over her face and pimped “The Simple Life” on Letterman last night. She talked about Paris, and the possibility that her non-existent ass might be joining her in jail soon. I hope it’s a Hannibal Lecter-type Plexiglas cell because bars are not gonna hold this atom-slicing corpse face. Normally I’d have some mercy, but this chick has begun to rankle me.

“The Simple Life” star told Dave that she hasn’t spoken to Paris since she entered prison, but she did talk to her right before, and said that Paris felt “just like anyone would feel before they were going to go to jail.”

Dave even brought up Nicole’s court problems and the possibility she could be headed to the slammer as well. Nicole took a page from the Paris apology book, telling Dave, “I’m just keeping my fingers crossed, and you know, of course, I’m scared also, but you know, I’m willing to face whatever consequences come my way and I take responsibility for what I’ve done.”

This will air tonight on CBS. You know she’s happy Paris is in the brig. Those two HATE each other. How come he didn’t ask her about the pregnancy rumors or why she had the cloth over her face in every photo for the last two days? He at least could have extracted an amusing anecdote about Mischa Barton freaking out and rolling around Nicole’s barbecue like a human anti-drug Afterschool Special. That had to have been funny. What kind of interviewer is he?
