I was trying to figure out why longtime-engaged Nicole Richie and Joel Madden decided to come out with their betrothal now. Could the launch of the Nicole’s clothing line Winter Kate and her new line of shoes for House of Harlow have anything to do with it?

Not that she needs the publicity, the girl has style.  Although I’m on the fence about the tights with jean cut offs look she still never fails to mix granola with sexy. She wore this look to Bloomingdale’s in New York City yesterday to debut The Winter Kate Spring 2010 line. The clothing line is an eponym for her daughter Harlow Winter Kate Madden as is her jewelry and now shoe line, House of Harlow. 

When is little Sparrow James Madden going to get some designer name love? Let’s be honest, it’s really a clothing line name before a little boy’s name.  Since she used her little girl’s names for jewelry and ladies clothes, I’m thinking there could a men’s line in the future.
