The man I know more as ‘Uncle Jesse’, but legally known as John Stamos, was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday. Apparently John’s career is somewhat impressive, even outside his time on Full House. Turns out, Stamos won a Daytime Emmy Award for his work on General Hospital in 1984, before joining the Full House crew in ’87.
At 46 years old, Stamos is currently playing the role of Albert Peterson in the Broadway production of “Bye Bye Birdie”. And if that isn’t cool enough (him being employed and all), Stamos’ star was placed right next to the extraordinary Dick Van Dyke’s star, who played the very same role in the original production.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m super pumped for John and all his success. However, despite how good he looks (aging like a fine wine, I tell ya), I will never be able to see John Stamos as anything other than the leather pant-wearing, mullet-rocking Uncle Jesse. Ah, such is life.
