Stars at the 43rd Annual NAACP Image Awards ceremony last night (February 18) gathered to pay tribute to the late Whitney Houston.
Gospel star Yolanda Adams sang a rousing version of “I Love the Lord, He Made Me Cry” in honor of Houston. Footage from the 1994 Image Awards was played, showing a young Houston receiving an award for “Outstanding Female Artist.”
Guests included Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer, who both won acting awards. Other winners included Regina King for her work on Southland and Tracee Ellis Ross for her work on the BET comedy Reed Between the Lines.
While posing for pictures at Friday’s NAACP Image Awards, Spencer lost her footing and took a spill off the stage. Watch the video after the jump.
But the actress, who stunned in a floor-length blue Tadashi Shoji gown, was back on her feet in no time after getting a hand from her The Help cast mates and crew, one of whom appeared to tumble with her.
