Olivia Wilde Gets Schooled By Her Twitter Followers

August 9th, 2011 // 2 Comments

Olivia Wilde is one of the smarter actresses in Hollywood, but sometimes even the smartest can make mistakes.  While on her international tour to promote her new movie Cowboys v. Aliens,  the brunette bombshell tweeted, ‘Cowboys screening for 8,000 in the Piazza Grande a the Locarno Fest tonight.  Prepping my speech in Swiss, Italian, and Apache just in case.’ Soon after many of her followers informed her (some not so nicely) that Swiss was not a real language.  Thankfully, Olivia took the correction in stride, jokingly tweeting relief that it would be one less language she would have to learn.  Good play, Olivia!  Using her noggin once again.

Look, it was an honest mistake.  How many of us, besides the Swiss, actually know what the official language is in Switzerland?  I just wiki’d it and apparently there’s four.  Who would have known that?  Big deal.  Olivia’s not famous because she’s a member of MENSA.  She’s an actress.  Give her a break!

Ironically, I just came back from watching her other movie The Change Up and as much as I love vulgar comedy, I wasn’t impressed.  Wilde, who plays an associate that Jason Bateman’s character secretly crushes on, was funny in it but I think she should have fought harder to have the “vagina tattoo scene” put into the movie.  There was already so much T&A shots that it wouldn’t have even mattered if they showed a little bit of vag.  It would have been much better than the doodoo scene in the beginning of the film.  And maybe some shirtless Ryan Reynolds shots.  Sorry for the mini-spoilers people, but the movie really isn’t worth seeing in the theaters.

Olivia was recently seen at the German premiere of Cowboys in Berlin, Germany on August 8, 2011 looking gorgeous in a black classic knee-length dress and black heels.  And the gold jewelry, let’s talk about the gold jewelry.  Wilde wore a Pasodoble collection 18K yellow gold bracelet and Bestiario collection 18K yellow gold tiger ring with smoked quartz, both by Carrera Y Carrera.  Ugh, so jealous!

Swiss German IS a language, actually. Distinct from regular german, incorporates a bit of french and other things too. I speak german, I do not speak swiss german. So there, twitter idiots!

Don’t diss Olivia’s movies! The “Change Up” was a hysterical and great comedy, I don’t like comedies, so if it wasn’t good I wouldn’t say it was! Also, to all you jerks out there who told her in a bully and mean way that Swiss isn’t a language, not many people know that first off, second you can all shut up and go somewhere… leave her alone! And finally, for the idiot who wrote this article, if any front body parts that are below the waste (other than legs and feet of course) are clearly visible in a film, then the rating will almost always be upgraded from R to X… hence the reason why you hardly ever (if ever at all) see Vagina shots or penis shots in an R rated movie. And most producers and directors of movies don’t like having an X rating unless they are producers or directors of porn films (obviously because well, then it’s to be expected) because then number one it can’t be shown in theater (or at least most if now all theaters don’t want X rated movie shown in their theaters) and number two, less people who be likely to go see it…. so think next time before you make a comment like that!
