it wasn’t alan thicke who screwed up…he said it was mrs. russia but it was the lady who had the crown who screwed up.

And they say beauty paegant contestants aren’t smart….

yeah. It was that pageant lady. Thicke said first runner up is…and then announced Russia and congratulated her. Wtf is wrong with those ladies comforting the fake winner. Now Russia seems like a 8itch because the stupid producers try to make it seem like the judges couldn’t decide who won.

Yes… Thicke got it right and the woman in charge of the crown was to blame.

Also, the Canadian contestant is claiming the pageant was fixed:

Alan was not to blame for this dumb move, its the girl who got confuse.

Well, from what one of them was saying, Mrs. Russia didn’t even appear at any of the rehersals…does sound fishy.

It was the two contestants’ fault as much as the crown girl – their body language was exactly the opposite of what it should have been, given who won and who was runner-up. Mrs. Russia starts *applauding* herself – yuck – while Mrs. Costa Rica stands there apparently in shock, then appears teary as her hands fly to her mouth (this is acceptable body language for a pageant winner, not a loser, who is expected to react immediately, before the winner, smile, clap and… well, what Mrs. Russia did!)

Maybe it was the language barrier, but I think it was more likely basic gracelessness on the part of both women.

That’s some dress on Mrs. Russia though!

ok, i’ll try and spell this out. While Mr. Thicke was stumbling over his words, he said that the duties of Mrs. World, if they couldn’t be filled by Mrs. World, would go to the first runner up. THEN he said TO the winner “you will get to keep your husband”.. which obviously indicates that SHE was Mrs.World, even though he hadn’t yet announced it. That is why both women seemed so confused and have such strange body language. Thanks.

  10. well, rather than conjecture, here is an article by a man asked to be a judge and what really happened. http://www.exile.ru/2006-May-05/feature_story.html

states that she is only 18!!! and she’s MRS.??? A bit young for all of that I’d say.
