Entertainment Tonight spoke with Oprah Winfrey recently, who openly confirmed the rumors that have been buzzing that her father, Vernon, was working on a tell-all book about Winfrey and her childhood.
“I only heard that it was true after I heard it in the media,” Oprah told us Monday evening at the 25th Annual CFDA Awards in New York. “And I spoke to him and he said, ‘Yes, it was true.’”
Her father seems undeterred by the fact that his writing it goes directly against his talk-show host daughter’s wishes, a particular thorn in the side of Winfrey. Little does her dad know, “Oprah’s Book Club” also refers to a very specific weapon she had crafted for just such an occasion. Just kidding! But seriously. I wouldn’t F with the O.

What a show of jealousy. Oprah’s father appears to be jealous of her and wish to bring her down by contradicting her own story.( I suppose Oprah have a biography of her published sometime ago)
Now,what would ‘Papa Oprah’ gain from his book. Is it fame, clear conscience? I cannot say. But all I can say is that Oprah is the one who has made him to be known. Whatever he writes or say,he should make sure that he is absolutely truthful otherwise, Oprah is sure going to sue him. Daddy or no daddy.

Yeah, i’m just going to go out on a limb here and say ‘Famewhore’. It’s just rude and insulting to write a tell all. How degrading! He’s likely doing it for the paycheck and the ability to get his name out as more than just ‘oprah’s dad’. Now it’ll be “Oprah’s dad, the one that wrote that tell-all book.” He can put it on his resume!
It’s hard to tell whether people will flock to read the book so that they can know all the supposedly juicy details, or whether she will send her hordes of stay-at-home mothers and other disciples to shun the book like a cellphone user at a librarian convention.

Did I just fall through a rip in time and space?
You reported on this WEEKS ago, confirmation and all… Then reported on it again days later saying she convinced her father to not go forward with this…
